The border and immigration matters were pretty relaxed during the late 1960 anbd 70s = not like today. I don't think anyone knows the exact figure of CDNs who served during the Viet Nam conflict, but those factors helped make it a reality.
Comparing Canada to Hitler's doomed Germany seems somewhat extreme. Most Cdns seem happy with the evolving state of democratic socialism. I'm sure in their their collective mind, they don't see Canada as doomed. That was the point I was trying to make = nothing else.
If the majority of the people support democratic socialism = then Canada is not doomed = since they are getting what they asked for. I personally have no use for a busy-body state where micro-management of the individual is the norm.
No, they aren't mercs. They are people with specialized trg in close protection or static security slots. They aren't involved in cbt or regular military operations. Too bad there are people like yourself = who don't understand the distinction.
I don't smoke or drink, but I think think every one should be able to do so, if they so choose. I don't care for busy-bodies and the gov micro-managing peoples lives. Sure seems like there's a lot of it, today.
Recruits have always been treated like dirt. It could also get physical years ago, but that's probably changed. I remember getting my butt kicked on more than one ocassion ;) Cap badges were usually worn after General Military Trg (the only cornflake I remember was by Kellogs).
Time Magazine did a feature on the CIA SOG Paramilitary units that are being used in the WOT. Check the back issues from a few years ago. There's no connection to the Army SF, though the article mentions that former team members are recruited = along with others from the SOF ranks.
Following WW2 right up to the 1970s, most Cdns stopped caring about the military. Sad, but true. Many of us can do a lot more by helping America by being south of the border. For those of us who have made this decision, there's nothing to justify. Besides, there are a lot more gigs in the close...

Many Americans and CDNs hold duel citizenship. You should explore that before ever renuunciating your citizenship. Have you tried to enlist in the CF?
The Mexican illegals and down-and-outers seem to benefit the most = since they don't have to fork over any money = unlike the working poor who have a limited income. Even a Walmart door greeter would probably have to break loose with some change..or do without medical.
The phrase is likely rooted in the NT. He who is not with me is against me = Matthew 12:30 It is a reflection of our times, even for anarchists with "steel toed boots".
The liberals and majority don't care about the military because it represents to them = the warrior spirit = which is one of the main causes of war. They believe by destroying the military, they will be eliminating war. I doubt they will ever get behind any policy that has the least bit of...
Religion in the military...
Most of our Regiments have ties to churches. To ignore religion is to ignore our military tradition = since Christianity did play an important role.
People that are in the US on a student = or another type of visa = can do an adjustment of status. Like, if they got married while being a student they could apply for a GC, then apply for the military. Talk to an immigration consultant and think positive.
