The US CIA has/had a clandestine paramilitary unit about 150 strong from its Special Operations Group(SOG) who was/is conducting a hidden war in Afghanistan since the 20th September 2001.

Who may give some more infos on this? I am currently writing a paper on this issue especially focussing on Afghanistan.

Time Magazine did a feature on the CIA SOG Paramilitary units that are being used in the WOT. Check the back issues from a few years ago.  There's no connection to the Army SF, though the article mentions that former team members are recruited = along with others from the SOF ranks.
