He's already shut the straights off for them - and I believe Turkish shipyards are building some stuff for Ukraine to use for that purpose - so he gets to keep his hands clean in that respect.

Despite all the reassurances from the Trump-whisperers that Trump was going to be tough with Vlad and not let Ukraine become another Afghanistan, I knew it was bullshit. Beavis likes Butthead, but instead of going to the old neighbour’s to wank off in his toolshed, they’re going to kick the old guy out of his house and have their way with his wife.

The only thing I can think of is that he's trying to terrify/force the Europeans into taking the lead in an opposition to Russia.

No, that’s what the Trump-whisperers (who are constantly contradicted by Trump himself) will tell you. He’s always had a soft spot for Vlad. To say he folded like cheap suit implies that he was actually going to negotiate in the first place.The only thing I can think of is that he's trying to terrify/force the Europeans into taking the lead in an opposition to Russia.
