Doubtful there will be much of anything new. The Republicans have powers in the House by virtue of their majority that they do not have in the Senate.Maybe, but much negative info will come out about the Biden administration.

Your opinion doesn't count in the real world of knock down drag out politics, which this will be. They don't have to stick to the subject at the trial, they can go off script so to speak.Doubtful there will be much of anything new. I don't think that he has ever made any bones about that first and foremost he's a comedian and satirist . . . a very smart and insightful comedian/satirist.
Some folks, including me, enjoy his approach to confirming my biases. We even enjoy his scathing attacks on the things we love. He does it that well. His comments about Biden were all on the mark.He hasn't but I am aware of a number of people that drew their information and opinions from him.
It's early times for this story as of yet but it will be interesting to see further developments. It will be fleshed out in the coming days by journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi and Alex Gutentag.CIA and foreign intelligence agencies illegally targeted 26 Trump associates before 2016 Russia collusion claims: report
The democrats control the senate. In the real world of knock down drag out politics, they may prevent much of a trial from happening at all.Your opinion doesn't count in the real world of knock down drag out politics, which this will be. Yep, with a motion to dismiss they will probably get the trial stopped before it can start. The democrats control the senate. In the real world of knock down drag out politics, they may prevent much of a trial from happening at all.
How do you flip a vacant seat?
Flipped from red to Democratic.

The point isn't to get a conviction. The point is to keep the matter in the news and get a bunch of people on record with how they stand on the matter of better border enforcement. Also, the Senate has to pretty much suspend other business while a trial is in progress. A majority vote is enough to proceed to final vote, so I suppose it's possible to shorten the process if they are willing to accept the political risk of taking a short-cut.The Republicans are gonna look like a dog humping a football during the senate trial. His job is not in danger.
Only on border matters, which are already mostly out in public. What's coming out of the hearings into Biden Inc is much more damaging - the line of defence has pretty much been completely pushed back to "Hunter duped people into paying for access to Joe" now, and polls suggest most Americans don't believe Joe was an unwitting figurehead.Maybe, but much negative info will come out about the Biden administration.
Have you see Trump's deposition tapes and how much he couldn't "recall."Biden's mental acuity isn't going to improve in the next 9 months, and it's infeasible to run another "basement campaign" or resort to calling a "lid" almost every day.
A useful read if you want to understand the people to whom Trump appeals.
JD Vance isn't Trump. And the New Statesman isn't noted for being of the right.
Hillbilly energy
Newly announced as Trump’s running mate, JD Vance has become a powerful voice in the new American right.www.newstatesman.com
The New Statesman's article is sympathetic to JD Vance and to the people he represents. They should. He represents FDR's New Deal Democrats, the ones that became Reagan Democrats.
Like the contemporaneous 1930s Labour Party in the UK its members were chapel Christians - dissenters and non-conformists that ran their own congregations. They believed in God. They believed in the Co-Operative movement and gave rise to socialism. They believed in personal effort and responsibility. They took part in service clubs like the Masons to help their communities. They were nationalists and proud of where they came from. They were economically socialist and socially conservative. But they were also individualists.
Somewhere along the way the Fabians took over and delivered this fine stramash we have today.
