    Personnel Screening and other stuff

I asked my file manager about completing "Sections K to O" and his response was it is not required as I only need level II for RMS. He recommended filling it out anyhow and it will be on record should it be required down the road. His theory was it is better to have too much information than not...

Slightly grey area that leaves me curious regarding application

A pardon does not wipe the slate clean. If you received a conditional discharge, you will receive a pardon automatically providing there has not been any more criminal activity for 3 years. The local police records remain on file and will continue to be released at their discretion for purposes...

Slightly grey area that leaves me curious regarding application

EDIT** I'd like to add that I know if I had received a guilty charge, that I would not be eligible. It's just that at the end of this, there is no evidence against a background check indicating any time even spent in court. Not a dent on my criminal record other then that. Just an FYI, after...

Brad, I'm hoping you're not too old. I just received my offer for RMS and I am 49 years old.

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

Still in shock. I don't know yet what my travel arrangements are. I'm thinking I will likely fly out of London.

    Pardons

Correct, you have to wait 5 or 10 years to apply for a record suspension (pardon) if you received a conviction for an indictable offense, but that does not mean your legal obligation is 5 or 10 years. You may have received probation for one or two years, and that is what needs to be completed...

    forces.ca updated?

This could be a good thing too. I have read many posts by applicants that have selected a trade because it was accepting applications just in hopes that they may get in sooner, rather then make their choices based on what they prefer to do for the rest of their lives.

Making my application more attractive to recruiters

I can't help you out with any  courses geared specifically to Infantry, but basically taking (and being successful at) any course will show initiative and a desire for "life long learning", which in turn, will reflect well on any application. Continuing education will always be a positive mark...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

My file manager told me last week that all selections are "frozen". I asked him what that meant and said it's complicated, and not to try to figure out. It is nice to see such a supportive parent.

Interview for ACISS coming up, any tips?

Just treat it as any other job interview, because that is what it is. Be honest, knowledgeable of your trade, and professional. As for a "cheat sheet", last year there was an interview preparation form on the CF website that you could complete in advance. It just addressed questions that you...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

My guess would be an average of 4 or 6 top marks, but maybe someone from recruiting can chime in with more information. I do know that if you take upgrading and do well, your mark will improve. Let's say you have your Grade 12 English credit and finished with 65%. If you were to take the course...

    Starting the Journey!

It is always an excellent idea to keep thorough records of your progress through a career, etc. You don't realize how it can benefit you later on down the road. An accurate, detailed personal portfolio will leave a very good impression on any potential employer.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

I can't answer your question whether the requirements would still apply, although I would think so. The courses required are easy to get through any school board's adult education center. In Ontario anyhow, you can take almost any high school credit through adult ed for $50, and that will let...

New to the site have a question.

Any volunteering is a good thing, I volunteer with the Humane Society and Animal Rescue. They have nothing to do with sports or fitness, but animals are my passion.

Want to join Army, Doubt About eyesight need confirmation please.

And before having your training, you have to be "selected" by the CF, and that can be a very long and highly competitive process.

What is the recruiting process like for people with glasses?

I was told to bring my glasses and prescription to both my medicals. I handed it to him and he handed it back to me and said he didn't need it. Finally, I was at the RC one day and asked them to copy it and put it in my file as it was getting quite tattered from carrying it around all the time...

    Enrollment standard with Sleep Apnea

Estoguy, you have the right attitude and that will get you places. Until you get an actual letter stating it's the end of the road, then it's not the end of the road. So don't give up, you have several options to consider. All the best to you, I am really hoping it all works out.
