U.S. Annexing Canada (split fm Liberal Minority thread)

A lot of people say they will fight - until the time comes and bullets start to fly as well...
Especially in the harsh coldness of Canada. It will reduce many a tough talking paper tigers to give up fast and beg for to surrender.

Well we won't be invading anytime soon, so folks can put that wet dream away of a northern version of Red Dawn...
I'm sorry but I've done Winter warfare ex's . I have never had any sort of sexual reaction to slowly freezing to death in a patrol hide waiting several hours before the other guys dumb enough to be out there to show up make contact .
Get our contact report fire off the obligatory burst or two gpmg fire . Try and break contact and hopefully get ourselves killed a proper military manner so we could at least turn **&% *&&%% gas fired heater on .
But no I never once had a single sexual thought or reaction to the above.
I don't know, maybe I'm weird.

It's pretty hilarious to assume Canada's reddit couch surfers will form any sort of resistance if the tanks start rolling over the border. Although if the Liberals win the next election, trump could get his 51st state.

Realistically we just need a land bridge to Alaska and the Canadian North - so we can take Alberta, the interior of BC, and the territories and leave you with the rot ;)

On the topic of winter ex, how do you suck ALL the fun and yahoo factor out of soldiering? You get off the bus/truck/chopper with your Ruck on your back, full whites and snow shoes with fully loaded toboggans on day one of a 18 day winter ex.

Oh I never said I wouldn't be out there. I think I can still remember how to use a Carl G and M72.
And a lot of weapons systems these days are fairly easy to use.
I just said I wouldn't enjoy it

My plan is different if we get "ugly" with Big Brother America. I am entering Mexico, crossing over the border into Arizona or Texas (I am white so I can probably just walk right across no questions asked). I will then be in a position to report on enemy activities deep behind lines. No frost bite for me.

On a (hopefully) equally hypothetical basis, IF the US were to actually implement Trumps threats to use "economic force" to try and force the annexation of Canada at what point do we walk out of NORAD and shut down the radar feeds?

Realistically the major direct military threats to Canada in terms of Russian/Chinese/North Korean missile and air attacks are due to the fact that we are America's ally and actively participate in the collective defence of North America through NORAD. If America were to no longer be an ally (i.e. they are actively trying to annex us) then why should we assist them in their defence?

Not saying it shouldn’t be done but I suspect Trump would then say that an act of aggression was committed against the U.S. and that he wants his military to invade us. In which case I hope the Joint Chiefs of Staff haven’t yet sworn their oath of loyalty to Trump instead of the Constitution. His demented mind is trying to force us to bend to his will. As I’ve been saying for a long time now, despite others saying he was just a shrewd negotiator, Trump is dangerous…to Canada…to the world and ultimately to the U.S. itself. By electing him to realize their dreams to make America great again, Americans have opened up a Pandora’s box of evils that have not been seen for many decades.

Try to rethink that one through to its second and third order effects for a minute or two.

Better still, let’s detach Alaska from the U.S. and just stick it on to Canada. You gotta admit, it looks better that way.

They would be too afraid to invade. Every few miles along the border we would install giant photos of Chrystia Freeland.
