Trump administration 2024-2028

Well, that's one way to settle the question of whether Gaza should belong to Israel or the Palestinians... Neither!

I did not have this one on my bingo card.

Trump mentioned the nice beaches... Atlantic City Part Deux is probably just around the corner ;)

Man my bingo card is just getting decimated tonight. I really thought I would have hit "Trump Says Chai-Nuh" by now but, alas, here we are:

This bit is concerning:
His aide, according to the WSJ, said Trump’s CIA will have a greater focus on the Western Hemisphere, targeting countries not traditionally considered adversaries of the United States.

So, I know I’m not gonna get everyone on side with “proposing to ethnically cleanse the Gaza Strip for conquest is awful”, but we all agree that Trump suggesting doing it and a potential U.S. troop presence is really, really stupid, right?

it would solve the Gaza problem. Also distract him from Canada

2 million people loafing around rubble with no basic sanitation and services for the next 10 years isn’t good for anyone.
And kicking 2 million people into countries who don’t want them or have a plan for them is?

The US would be better doing a Germany style occupation/reeducation/rebuild if thats what they want to do.

Yes. Europe has taken in over 6 million Ukrainian refugees, not to mention millions more from the Middle East and Africa over the past decade. The Arab world has vast amount of land and money to resettle, temporarily or not, 2 million of their own. They need to suck it up and do their part.

How many refugees is the US planning to take in? Will they lead by example?

That will consume a lot of American lives & money, and there will not be the allies that supported in Afghanistan and/or Iraq.

Not if you're the US Navy, who might build a base in Gaza (next to the casinos and beach clubs) to restore dominance in a region that's always falling apart.

Even better because Russia has been kicked out of Syria, just up the coast.

I was doing some investigating into Trump's new administration, to get a feel of what his list of appointees would look like. One might assume that he would have straight white guys across the board, with all this talk of rolling back DEI. However, out of the 23 nominations I found, 11 do not fit that mold. There are 8 women nominated, 2 of which are non-white. There is an openly gay man, an African American, and a man of Indian descent.
More surprising are the positions that some of the females are nominated for: Homeland Security Secretary, Attorney General, Ambassador to the UN, Director of National Intelligence, and Labor Secretary.

If they are all confirmed, it will be interesting to see how the internal dynamics of government work this time around, and if they all last the four year.
