Summer 2024: Rioting across UK cities

ANTIFA should have been silenced long ago
They are an international terrorist group, but somehow are allowed to fundraise and advocate for violence on X, Instragram, Paypal, Venmo, etc. They even have uniforms, not even trying to hide it anymore. Look at the videos of the "anti racist protectors". Trademark antifa all black outfits and facemasks. They're not noble superheroes, they're anti-establishment terrorists.

It doesn't matter whether the pretext was correct or not; eventually something like this was bound to happen. There has been plenty of recent prior warning in various countries that people are tired of being shown the long digit by their respective governing classes. The early cause in common is failure of governments to maintain a civil liberal polity by focusing on holding the consent of the governed.

Well, I'm glad the anti-racists came out to confront the far-right and hope the government amend the law enough to do something about those far-rightists who spread misinformation.

Oh boy...

In addition to Mr. Ricky Jones telling a crowd to "slit the throats of protestors", the North American media has done its usual nonsense.

Not everybody protesting is far right or racist.
A majority of them are just normal people who are sick & tired of what they believe is a huge double standard in terms of policing and other services that their tax dollars pay for.

Should someone who entered the UK illegally be entitled to 1600 pounds a month, and stay for free in a hotel room?

Should they also get free healthcare despite not paying into the system?

Should they be able to commit crimes and not fear any real legal repercussions, while citizens born in the UK would be arrested & charged?

The whole reason why the UK voted to leave the EU is because they didn't want someone in Brussels deciding the laws in their lands, or dictating to them how many refugees they have to take...

And yet here they are saddled with hundreds of thousands of people that didn't enter legally, don't respect their laws, and in many ways try to change the social and political landscape to look more like the lands they fled from.

NONE of this is 'far right' or 'racist'...

Look at the scene in London from yesterday. Do you honestly think that ALL of those people are racists and far right nutjobs?

They look like pretty ordinary people to me!

...

The UK government couldn't have handled this situation any worse than they are right now.

They've chosen to ignore their own citizen's concerns, and instead seem to have sided with the people who aren't even there legally instead.

And they've applied their hate speech laws & online censorship laws in ways that are extremely unreasonable.

As it stands now, a 55yo woman has been taken into custody for sharing something online that contained 'inaccurate information' - and she's not the only one

Who's to say her post contained inaccurate information? What about if the media posts something that contains inaccurate information? Who decides what's accurate and not accurate when people are simply sharing video footage of events in their area?
An arbiter of truth?

There will be shitheads that stir up trouble, there always are. And like usual their antics will taint the message that the bigger movement is trying to communicate.

That will happen on both sides, like it always does.

But this has been a long, slow march coming & was entirely preventable is the government had used some common sense in terms of its spending, and actually listened to the citizens & taxpayers of the country.

Heck if the government even directed the police to enforce the laws of the land consistently across the board, this may have been preventable

But no. Common sense, accountability to the citizenry, consistent application of the laws of the land, and responsible use of taxpayer dollars were all thrown out the window & those in power chose to treat their citizens with contempt instead...

We'll see how far this ends up going, but their government deserves the kind of reckoning only an army of pissed off citizens can bring with it

or dictating to them how many refugees they have to take...
They aren't poor refugee families crossing into the UK fearing for their lives. They are mostly single men, aged 20-35. Islamic countries don’t have to fight wars against the west, they just need to replace the people there through mass invasion immigration. The UK of the 60s is gone. Poland seems to be the only country in Europe still able to maintain their culture and identity, you can only do that if you keep your borders secure.

If 'wanker' was a video clip ;)

Holy crap - maybe people wanting faster justice here in Canada could learn a lesson or two in the UK? Mind you, pleading guilty seems to have speeded up the process, but still ...

Yeah, good luck with that extradition in a US court…
You mean if the UK wants to deport a US citizen shit disturber back to the US? That would be different from extradition, in that if the UK decides a non-UK citizen is failing to meet non-permanent resident agreed conduct, the Home Office can remove the non-UK citizen.

The idea that a country can pass whatever laws it chooses and then apply them to people physically located elsewhere who are posting content on web sites is amusing.

Lord Haw Haw would beg to differ.
False equivalency.

Entirely different set of circumstances that involved charges of treason (Lord Haw Haw was not one person) during a time of armed conflict.

I am no fan of any of the spectrum of the various flavours of asshats spewing hate on the internet. But, by all means, lets do the treason charges…

I was speaking to the concept of applying laws to speech located elsewhere in the world.
