Just went down that rabbit hole.

Article said he spent over 40 years as a reservist(joined in 1978), as an OCdt. I had to take a double take there, wondering how in the fuck could someone be in that long and never once get through basic/get their commission, even as a reservist.

We had one guy like that who was really good at looking after the stuff for the Mess. ;)

Asked about anything uncomfortable that Hamas has done.... 'There is no evidence of that'. or 'they can't do that because they are Muslim.'

Yup. Here's a gentleman in Gaza smiling laughing and cheering on rockets heading toward Israel. With lots of Allah Ackbars.

Two weeks later he's no longer laughing or Allah Ackbaring.

As I scan headlines this morning, I see the Government of Canada has - after a proper investigation - a "high degree of confidence" Israel wasn't responsible for an explosion in a parking lot near a hospital.

Should I expect all future federal government communications regarding breaking news on grave matters to be expressed in equally carefully hedged terms after some kind of plausibly respectable investigation, or may I continue to despise the politicians who shoot their birdbrain-controlled beaks off when initial reports suit what they want to believe?

Not a bad strategic concept. Incite maximum rage as quickly as possible, then allow attention to turn to the enraged opponent who will bleed in the media for weeks for every imagined instance of misconduct. Of course there will be a lot of assistance from people inclined to allow Hamas's conduct to temporarily fade into the background while Israel's comes under strict scrutiny.

Kudos to the MND for making the due diligence efforts on behalf of the Prime Minister and of course Minister of Global Affairs .
Would the Minister also be able tell the country more about the alleged sinking of the Passenger Liner Titanic and what the government's position is , if any ?
After all we wouldn't want a rush to judgment. That would be irresponsible.

Police said that around 100,000 people attended the rally, where protesters scaled buildings in Whitehall, chanted “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”, and called for “jihad”.

Only 10 people were arrested during the protests. The arrests were for offences involving fireworks, public order and assaulting an emergency service worker.

Christian Action Against Anti-Semitism called off a planned “Pray for Israel and the Jewish People” event after police warned that participants could be “injured or intimidated”.

Organisers of the prayer walk in Golders Green, north London, who were expecting up to 30,000 people to attend, said they felt “silenced” by the police who allowed a pro-Palestine rally to go ahead with an estimated 100,000 participants in central London on the same day.

Compare and contrast

Christians and Jews plan to demonstrate and the police silence them.
Muslims demonstrate and the police escort them.

I reckon the police are just more terrified of the Muslims.

still mealy mouthed. He had to throw in that in accordance with international law. Why on earth can't he just be man enough to say Israel deserves our support and has the right to defend itself. Full stop
It’s an appropriate reminder, and it wasn’t just him- it was a part of the joint statement released by the White House.

It really is disgusting how willfully oblivious some of these protesters are.

It seems like nuance isn't allowed, they don't realize they can be critical of Israel while also being critical of what Hamas has done.

Her gold AK earing's don't scream someone that values peace.
