I can't even fathom how people can come up with these ideas, this country is going to virtue signal and handicap itself to death. With our economy, debt, social climate we're to the point where you hope our kids don't have kids, unless they move to another continent to do it. This country will not be a good place to be in within 50 years and unrecognizable in 100.

When it comes to housing, I think PP has the best plan out of the options we have...build more houses. Period. And ideally, built more multi-family dwellings near transit stations. Makes sense.

There will always be a market of people who want to raise a family in the suburbs where they have a single family home, backyard, pets, and they grow as a family with other families also growing in the same boat.

There will always be a market of people who just moved out from home, or who perhaps just arrived in Canada, who will benefit more from having all of their goods & services available much closer to them, and who will rely exclusively on public transit.

Building more of both makes a lot of sense...


Allowing 1.3 million people into the country while only building enough new housing to accomodate approx 200,000 people makes no sense. And that doesn't even include other people who will also be looking for housing (recently divorced or broken up people, people moving out from home, etc etc)

If withholding some federal dollars from municipalities until they actually build the infrastructure the money is intended for is what it takes to get that infrastructure built - seems like a good incentive/kick in the pants to start getting stuff done

Maybe it's the final nail in the coffin thats required for anybody who is still thinking of voting for this bunch of clowns? Maybe they'll finally see how little they care about the big issues, and just want to get into their wallets...

His other plan on this file is tying immigration levels to housing availability. Rather sensible, given the current insane levels with no rhyme or reason.

Id also like to add targeted immigration towards professions we are in dire need of. And I would close off immigration to any folks over 50, you should have work and spend time and money contributing to our social services before you can draw from them.
