I'd love to see a current Team Red MP become interim PM and then promptly lose their seat in the next election and force the Libs to have yet another costly leadership campaign.

It would still be up to the Government to determine the timing of said by-election. Squeeze a few more drops of schadenfreude out of the situation.

He announced that he does however plan to run again in the next election so possibly keeping his powder dry in order to try and pick up the pieces of the party after the upcoming election loss.
