Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

Tbh I had no idea that Angus Reid was a real person. I thought it was the last names of owners.

Yup...

I was at the Metcalfe Fair this past Sunday. For those of you who are not from the NCR, Metcalfe (home of the Larry Robinson arena) is a small bedroom/farming community 35 minutes SE of downtown Ottawa. There was a cattle show and barrel racing, midway, classic car and tractor show. And the most popular event the truck pull. Noisy, dusty, and smelly, everything a fair should be.
The Conservatives had an info tent and I saw a scattering of axe the tax t-shirts about. There was no LPC or NDP info booths that I could see, but I think an enterprising LPC or NDPer should have had one there just to gauge the mood of the crowd. The crowd was a mix of urban and rural and would have been an opportunity for the leftish parties to find out why they are unpopular at this time.

Oh well, it seems that they have lost the burbs (they lost rural Canada decades ago) this go around and it seems they are doing nothing to even attempt to gain those folks back.

Are we talking about CAF Recruiting again? ;)

That’s in the Carleton riding. PP is the local MP. They won’t waste time fighting for that I think. And it would only give the CPC photo ops of people confronting the LPC and NDP booths.

Nope. The liberal candidate does seem to be putting the door knocks and voter engagement work in, and I respect him for that, but I don’t see him having any conceivable chance.

Maybe they’re seeing the writing on the wall and have thrown the towel in for this election. Trudeau and Singh both need to go and LPC completely thrown in the shredder and start from scratch.

Well when the Kamloops Grave accusation came out and a number of on and off reserve churches suffered from arson attacks the federal government was rather quiet in its response.
85 church attacks in total I believe?

It's easy to see how someone might misconstrue Trudeaus "condemnation".

“I understand the anger that’s out there against the federal government, against institutions like the Catholic Church. It is real and it’s fully understandable, given the shameful history that we are all becoming more and more aware of and engaging ourselves to do better as Canadians.”

Sign a pledge? Seriously?

Trudeau be like...

Let's see how shark-y they really are, based on how long it's taken to even convene this far ....

Meanwhile, I'm shocked ....

I watched a good CBC coverage by Dave Cochrane on this very subject with a former CPC, Liberal and NDP campaign staffers. It was very informative and calm session (It was a good CBC show and yes I watch CBC news as well as the other stuff). The Liberal guy came out and said changing Trudeau out is about party survival at this point (best option they can hope for if they do this is forming the opposition next election)

Despite how some people feel about the CBC, David Cochrane is a pretty good host/moderator and he always has all sides represented (except when he has actual MPs on since the CPC has a policy against CBC appearances).

I’ve never really seen it get out of hand when he’s on.
