Russian Cannibal Couple Allegedly Fed Victims To Local Military Recruits

Russian authorities are investigating whether a so-called “cannibal couple” is responsible for drugging, skinning alive, and consuming potentially 30 victims a while living on a military base, the Washington Post reports, even attempting to “turn soldiers at the military academy where they worked into unwitting cannibals [by] slipping ‘canned human meat’ into their food.”

Police in the southwest city of Krasnodar arrested Dmitry Baksheev, 35, and Natalia Baksheeva, 42, after a search of their apartment at the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School at Primorsko-Akhtarsk Air Base uncovered the body of a missing 35-year-old resident, along with “fragments of the human body in saline” and “food fragments and frozen meat pieces of unknown origin,” Investigation Department of the Russian Federation announced on Sept. 25.

Local media reported that the couple told police they had killed and consumed at least 30 victims over the span of 20 years, during which Natalia, described as a “former nurse,” attempted to sell “frozen meat pies” and other meat products to both local restaurants and Russian soldiers training at the aviation academy.

Russian federal authorities said that local police only became aware of the couple’s grisly practices after maintenance workers found an abandoned cell phone on the streets of Krasnodar that contained graphic photos of dismembered limbs and body parts, including one photo of Dmitry “posing with a dismembered hand in his mouth,” according to the New York Daily News.

The couple is currently undergoing a thorough psychological examination by both law enforcement officials and medical professionals. The case is, somehow, not the most gruesome murder case to hit Russia this year: Former policeman Mikhail Popkov confessed in March to raping and murdering 82 people between 1992 and 2000, 22 of which have already yielded convictions, according to CNN.

Vatican diplomat sought in Canada on child porn charges

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a Vatican diplomat accused of uploading child pornography to a social networking site while inside a Windsor, church over the Christmas period last year.

Windsor police say they were alerted by the RCMP in February and launched an investigation, eventually getting judicial permission to access relevant internet records.

They say the alleged offences took place between Dec. 24 and 27 of last year.

Police say the 50-year-old suspect has since returned to his home in Italy, and also has ties to the United States as well as the Windsor area.

Carlo Capella is sought on charges of accessing, possessing and distributing child pornography.

The Vatican recalled Capella after the U.S. State Department notified it Aug. 21 of a "possible violation of laws relating to child pornography images" by one of its diplomats in Washington.

The Vatican -- while not mentioning Capella by name -- says its own prosecutor is investigating and seeking further information from the U.S.

The Diocese of London, Ont., confirmed that it helped investigators who had suspicions of "possible violations of child pornography laws by using a computer address at a local church."

It declined further comment, citing a police request.

The diplomat recall was expected to lurk in the background* of an international conference in Rome planned for next week at the Pontifical Gregorian University on protecting children from online sexual exploitation, pornography and abuse.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state and Capella's boss, is set to deliver the keynote speech Tuesday on "The Holy See and its commitment to combating sex abuse online."

Panelists at the conference, which was organized months ago, are to include top law enforcement and academic experts in the field of child protection and cybercrimes, with an entire morning devoted to "Child Sexual Abuse Online: Who are the offenders?"

If there were any doubt, there is no more: Canada is the stupidest country ever.

The evidence, already all around, is now irrefutable.

The Toronto District School Board, in its efforts to remain ahead of the Ontario government curve on all gender-cultural-political sensitivities, is not only contenting itself with following Education Minister Mitzie Hunter’s directive of early this year to review all potentially indigenous-offensive team names and mascots, but also has declared War on the word “chief.”

“I can confirm that the title ‘chief’ is being phased out in various departments at the TDSB,” board spokesman Ryan Bird told Postmedia in an email Tuesday.

“It’s part of the ongoing work that the school board does through the TDSB’s Aboriginal Education Centre with regards to Truth and Reconciliation (Commission, or the TRC, which produced its massive final report in 2015).”

Years ago, Metro considered changing Police Chief, Fire Chief and Paramedic Chief to General Manager.
It was only a discussion, and didn't go anywhere. Apparently, General Manager sounded too civilian to some chiefs.

On the other hand, if I had a nickel for every time I heard "chief" used as a derogatory term on calls...

After the Toronto District School Board's controversial Islamic Heritage Month guidebook and their proposal to recite the Muslim greeting “As-salamu alaykum” (peace be upon you) during morning announcements last week; we see that they for some reason believe that "Chief" is a derogatory term.  How little they know of history.  Chief has been used for centuries in Europe and Africa to indicate the head of a tribe, well before the discovery of the Americas.

This leads to one conclusion:  The members of the TDSB are either on drugs, or should actually go to school to learn history.

I wonder what next weeks TDSB controversy will be?  ???

When I worked for the City of Toronto, we tried to sell the people we were working for on the job we were doing and gain their support.

We tried to avoid terms that might be offensive to some people.
What's the sense in antagonising somebody when you know how to avoid it?

The only food related CAF thing that comes to my mind is the "Joining HMCS ORIOLE" (and I don't know if the tradition still exist) whereby, the first thing one was to do on being introduced to the Coxn was ask for "Oreo (as stand in of Oriole) cookies". If those were not your first words to the Coxn, you had to swim once around the ship the next time we were at anchor (and I can attest that, in February, the waters of the Gulf Island area are friggin cold!!!).  :witch:
