RMC/ROTP 2025-2026

The army has overall almost double the active personnel of the RCAF so there’s generally more place for advancement and, if I’m not wrong, most of the high ranking officials come from the army. There’s also all the interesting courses like para training, but that’s not really related to better opportunities.

I’m actually planning on doing ROTP through a civilian university. I already started my first year and it wouldn’t make sense having to restart. What about you?
I am in grade 12, so I am considering RMC. I am considering other universities as well. However, RMC seems great!

Do you know if naval warfare officer is similar to aircrew trades given their own entrance test the MOST?
As for aircrew trades, the score you get during aircrew selection has always been the most important factor in getting chosen.

do you guys know how long I'll be at final processing before they decide whether I am eligible or not? my interview went pretty badly, but my grades are on the higher end, so I was wondering when they would give me an answer

pretty sure everyone who's completed all of the required procedures, as well as pass the basic requirements such as 75+ average and a satisfactory cfat score, make the competition list. rmc said they understand and adapt to people who are also applying to other universities, so most offers will be given out by june. also, a recruiter told me that if you get to the point where they give you the interview you have a high chance of being accepted unless your interview shows that you are actually like weird.

on the other hand, i wanna ask any applicants in their senior year right now, does rmc literally only see and care about our grade 11 marks?

Hey I can respond to this because I applied. Yes, if your transcript only has grade 11 marks they will only see those. Also, I know three people at RMC, and they aren't really academically smart if I have to be honest. Their averages were around the mid 80s region. From what I’ve seen, anything 75%+ is considered the same I believe. They can see your grade 12 marks if it’s on your transcript. If it’s not, they wont see it. For example, I took biology grade 12 last year, so they will see that.

Interesting, I don't think I said any red flags during the interview

I went to my local recruiting center today and I was told that Intelligence Officer through ROTP is closed as there were too many applicants and no more slots were left.

Same thing for pilot.

Are those the only two occupations that are already full?

I'm not sure, those are 2 of the 3 I applied for, so I wouldn't know for the rest.

But since there are a lot of very niche occupations that only accept a handful of applicants a year, I doubt it.

I know for a fact that AERE O and the combat arms officer positions are still open.

Not sure about the rest.

Hopefully CELE is still open, i'm rather far on the application process but still, might just be me but they got filled up quick.

My recruitment center's been flooded as of recent, can't even get a call in without getting told no one's in the office, so apart from the shitty website to go off of, I'm in the dark.

CELE usually stays open for a while from what I've seen so you should be good.

My recruiting center was fully empty, but for some reason they still won't let me book an interview yet.

Strange, usually i'd assume they've been flooded right after coming back from winter break. At least that's what someone told me when I did get a call from the center but from a different matter. Maybe it should clear up after a few days?

On an update, just checked the online application status and apparently I've been selected ? I guess i'm just waiting on an offer/call from the Recruiting Centre as of now. I know RMC and CFRG operate independently so I'm not sure if it means I'm good on all sides, but I know that RMC wont tell you themselves if you've been selected.

I think that means you got selected by the recruiting centre. The recruiting centre and RMC seperately admit you. I.e. RMC could reject you while the recruiting centre accepts you, which would mean you get ROTP Civi U.

Btw, what did you apply for? Do you know how long security clearance takes lol that’s my final step

I see, makes sense.

I applied for CELE O, i know for me it took a couple weeks for it to get cleared out, but i applied during September/October.

I'd assume if you've been waiting a while for it to get passed you shouldn't have to wait that much longer.

after the security clearance, do they contact you?

I am confused cause the recruiting centre told me that after the security clearance, they will tell me if I am in or not, but there is a competetion list afterwards

No, they haven't contacted me so I assume they won't for you either.

As for the CL, you're only in when you're PAST the Competition List Selection afaik. And if your experience is similiar to mine, be prepared to wait a little while when you're in the CL. I got unlucky because it was the holidays as soon as i was on the list so maybe it be a little less worse now, but it's still a lengthy wait.

Is your online application website accurate? If so, I would go off of that, but I've heard it can get very shaky at times.

How long did it take for you guys to go from medical/interview completed to the competition list?
for me, I have been on the security clearance stage for over 1 month. However, I think they do selectioning while you’re in the security clearance phase due to how long it takes.

I'm getting a little worried... RMC said applications for ROTP close on the 31st, and my interview is the 28th. I see this and I see y'all so far ahead and it feels like I'm too far behind. By deadline for ROTP do they mean the application for RMC itself or the whole forces process?

Does anyone have any insight on how long each subsequent step after the interview takes?

I hope I can get in before the start of May because I already am accepted to 3 other universities and need to decide by then. The last thing I need is a hold up.
