I'm too cynical about the CAF/GoC to believe it's a happy coincidence. Particularly given the direction to get back to the office 5 days a week came at about the same time as the economic increase, and the EI came about just as PSAC was making serious noise about a strike.
Nothing the GoC does isn't political, even when political isn't partisan.

Based on past practice, if a CAF increase lags behind what comparator PS groups receive, there will be a further increase to ensure the CAF maintains at least parity in increases.

I can't find it sober... Lived in Halifax for two years, and only ever got there when I was out with friends after a night on the town.

Are you sure you are in the CAF? Also, if something hasn't happened before (or more than monthly) we're safe to assume it won't happen ever.
Edit: Unless it's a good thing that's really unlikely but happened once (or almost happened, or I knew a guy whose cousin it happened to), then it's our primary COA.
