Foreign interference in Canada/stretched RCMP

Trump's pick to the National Security Advisor post is not a fan of the present Canadian government and it's links to China.

This should be interesting....
Waltz predicts the LPC will lose.

Well no shit Sherlock - short of some earth-shaking event, everyone can see the LPC will lose. In the past year, 10 national elections have taken place and in every single instance, the incumbent govt has lost.

Focusing on the irrelevant details while ignoring the more important ones hasn't been working for you. Suggest a rethink on your analytical process.

What more important ones? We have an election within the next year, and the LPC isn’t getting in.

Waltz doesn’t like the current govt, which will be replaced within the next year. By the time he gets in his post, there will be less than 9 months until the election is done.

There is nothing to ignore because we’re changing governments. The better question is whether the GOP-led US will like the CPC-led Canada more or less.

The fucking spotlight on CCP interference, Dimsum... that is what is more important. Not comments on the next election outcome.

…on a party that is likely to lose?

I’m not purposely being obtuse. If the LPC was projected to win, then I would suggest that he has a much more valid point.

Unless you’re suggesting that the CPC is also under interference by the CCP (or other actors). Then yes, he also has a point. But that’s not what he’s talking about.

Canadians are polarized right now, but one thing that unites us above all else, historically speaking, is not being talked down to by Americans.

Dimsum... just because an election happens does not make the CCP interference scandal go away.... there needs to be maximum pressure to sort this situation out - regardless of who wins at the next election.

Canada has so far demonstrated an unwillingness to deal with this, at least as far as the general public can tell.

…and we’re back to the whole “how do we do this without burning sources” argument again.

Did the US and other partners give the GoC permission to publicly name sources? If not, is Canada willing to be even less liked by our intelligence partners?

I’m willing to go back to this circular argument if you are.
