Canadian Surface Combatant RFQ

This shows to good effect the scalability of the SPY-7 radar. Also good to see Japan continues to stick with this radar, hopefully putting to rest some of the speculation it is not as good as SPY-6.

finally a contract!
Woohoo! Some good progress on NSS these past 2 days.

finally a contract!
Yes Finally, but all the Liberal directed media horsepower was minister Wilkinson on the West Coast yesterday announcing an Ice Breaking Science vessel. The Liberals have refused to acknowledge that the World has grown darker and far less certain .

So they reluctantly announce the largest Federal Government commitment in Canada's history on a Saturday the day before the Second Trudeau moves on. They are just NOT serious people.

Announcing a contract that they had previously announced and is really just a step on a road Seaspan and the government have been on for a few years already.

After the announcement of the construction contract I suggest to start a new thread called something like River-class destroyers.

the $7Billion dollar price tag is a little concerning
Hard to judge what is appropriate or not from these figures provided when we are missing effectively all context, we can't compare them to foreign contemporaries when we don't even know what is included within them as far as costs. The RCN typically uses some very strange, overly inclusive costing methods that make comparisons effectively impossible.
