Im in the same platoon as button, and im using a TT M203 belt, works great, i also use a mav and wear my belt wrapped around me just above the rig. if i need to grab it fast, i can just throw it over me pancho villa style.

no, the straps arent curved. even though, when worn over body armor, loaded vest (not the issued vest mind you), and winter kit, it worked peachy. i was hauling around 30lbs in it, and I had no worries.

Im using a SpecOps brand THE pack, and its working quite well for me. needs a framesheet though. built bombproof, holds lots of junk, and MOLLE for attaching extra pouches. the price wasnt too bad either. Id still prefer a RAID though.

the idea is with the vents is that if your in water, your feet are gonna get wet regardless. with the vents, as soon as you get OUT of water, the motion of you walking pushes the excess water in your boots out, and thus drying them faster.

i have one of thoese too, i love it. i wear it all the time under my recce smock, and it keeps me nice and toasty. when it gets really ugly cold, i wear the fleece and the liner and the recce smock with no issues. (ugly cold being around -30 or so)

well, they changed the cuffs on the fleece pants to zipper straight legs instead of the constricting cuff. maybe, just maybe, they will change the jacket too.
