    re: basement ranges closed down, I think it might also have to do with inadequate ventilation, lead dust and new regulations regarding it (In addition to schools being guns=bad).

    The Egyptians moved huge stones with logs underneath, you could do the same with a battleship although it might screw up the keel if you don't brace it properly

    Hanging shirts on metal hangars will cause the stains, switch to metal or wood.
