Worst Military Movies

And yet no mention of Apocalypse Now? Or Catch-22?

Or Paths of Glory, The Longest Day...or the guilty pleasure of Kelly's Heroes.

The list of bad movies is almost too easy. The Dirty Dozen is awesome; the sequels are not.

In the realm of guilty pleasures, Where Eagles Dare. There are so many things you can pick apart but I still rewatch it every winter.

Candidates for the good list would be Danger Close and Hell in Korea. The latter’s cast alone is worth the watch: Stanley Baker, George Baker, Harry Andrews, Robert Shaw and Michael Caine.

There is a Chinese movie called “The 800” about the Defense of Sihang Warehouse in the Battle of Shanghai in 1937.

Considering that the CCP obviously had a hand in it, it is surprisingly balanced (not all the Chinese were good people, and not all the Japanese were bad people) and anti-war.

I can't believe people have missed the most obvious choice for best war movie...

As a weather witch, shouldn't your "best movie" be obvious?

I learned of "Guns at Batasi" only 2-3 years ago, and love it as well. "
" Go Tell the Spartans" the Vietnam War film most people have never heard of. Starring Burt Lancaster as an U.S. advisor to the South Vietnamese Army. Much more realistic then John Wayne's gung- ho extravaganza.

The Guns at Batasi was one of my Dad's favorites...one of the Vietnam flicks with some good one liners courtesy of R. Lee Ermey is "The Siege Of Firebase Gloria".

I will go with "The Patriot" as the worst war movie.

"1917" is probably the best one I have seen to date.

"Inglorious Basterds" is my guilty pleasure strictly for being over the top.
