In Quebec, the process for that solution requires 14 months before you are allowed to drive a car on your own without a qualified driver in the car with you. If you don't have driver's license and come to live in Quebec: (1) allow for that much time and(2) make sure you have a friend who will drive with you to gain experience as it is required that you do so after you get your temporary permit and before you can graduate to "probationary", which allows you to drive on your own.
