USN officer took call girl job!!!

Interesting, they give military discounts!

I wonder if it's enough to offset the cost of charges?  ;)  :warstory:  ;)

What!!?? That's silly.

Why offer that when no one in uniform could possibly avail themselves of the service they are providing as per the UCMJ??  >:D

It's like places that try to give police officers free coffee when they come in. The business is trying to be nice, and also get cops to stop by the stop-&-rob. But that doesn't mean it's acceptable for the officer to accept the gratuity. Look, I don't want to come across sounding like a prude because I'm not. But this officer was a security risk due to her financial troubles, morals, etc. Plus, she set a terrible example for her subordinates. (Above and beyond the fact that she violated several articles of the UCMJ.)

cheers, Mark

Marilyn's brothel in Singleton NSW (home of the School of Infantry, and Special Forcres Training Centre) openly gives a military discount, or they used to in 2005 anyways ( so I heard, ha).

Singleton is a town, and imagine the outrage of a brothel in a town in Canada, ha! here its just a fact of life, no one really cares.

The lads had told me if I ever was to go, a visit to Rose and her spa (Jacuzzi) was recommended ;) at $195/hr or a 'shoot & scoot' special at $95/ half hour. This place is on a street, nestled between two pubs, nd with coal miners and soldiers, its the only brothel in the Hunter Valley wine region, so they do well.

The 'employees' travel daily as far as from Newcastle.

Wes, is this the place???

CANLEY Heights couple are the first in NSW to be prosecuted for keeping sex slaves.
Last Thursday in the NSW District Court Trevor Frank McIvor and his Thai wife Ann Kanokporn Tanuchit, owners of Marilyn's Adult Services, (formerly known as Marilyn's Spa and Sauna) in Ware Street, Fairfield, were each convicted of 16 offences of possess and exercise ownership over a slave.

The charges included causing a person to enter and remain in sexual servitude, taking and detaining a person with intent to obtain financial advantage, causing another person to enter into debt bondage, and conducting a business involving sexual servitude and intentionally possessing a slave.

The pair were arrested on June 2, 2006, after the Australian Federal Police, NSW Police and Immigration Department officers raided the couple's brothel finding four females from Thailand.

Police allege that the Thai women, aged 27 to 44, were found cowering under furniture in an unlit, locked room with no door handles.

Police alleged the women were forced into prostitution and held against their will between May 19 and June 2, 2006.

Sounds like a nice bunch of neighbours

I may have missed something as I have worked my way through this thread but I just want to get something straight -- If she set a poor example for her subordinates by acting as a call girl, do men (officers/NCMs) who visit prostitutes set a poor example for their subordinates?  And should they be charged for doing so?

Not looking to pick a fight... just want to hear your opinion.

No, not the place, Fairfield in western Sydney, and another disgrace of an ethnic ghetto, and the region mentions is mainly of asians and pacific islanders, and yes the sex trade in slaves (bringing young asian women over - they think as students or restaurant work etc) they imprisoned in an 18hr day shift as a sex slave. Sad.

- Good question.  Answer: no.  Mixing apples and oranges.

- However: MEN who prostitute themselves should face the same sanctions as the women.  And yes, it does happen.

- To me, there are some major psych issues in the case of the USN officer.  Her private life is a shambles. Bi-polar?  Who knows.

- Perhaps in the US military - like in the Canadian military - failure to manage personal finances is a release sub-item. She may have tried hooking to avoid that.  Trouble is, giving a spend-a-holic more money is like giving a drunk more booze.  Nothing gets solved.

Please explain to me the difference as I don't believe it is apples and oranges.  Soliciting prostitution is illegal for all involved.

Depends on what it's called and how it's done, I suppose. Pick up any big city phone book and look under Escorts.

- Law A (apples): Selling it: If it is illegal to sell sex, then boys and girls who sell sex should pay the same penalties.

- Law B (oranges): Buying it: If it is illegal to buy sex, then boys and girls who buy sex should pay the same penalties.

Soliciting for the purpose of prostitution is only illegal in a public place in Canada.

Have fun withthis...

its in the Criminal code of Canada   few years back cars were determined to be public places

Subsection 213(1) of the Criminal Code is replaced by the following:
Offence in relation to prostitution
213. (1) Every person who in a public place or in any place open to public view

stops or attempts to stop any motor vehicle,

impedes the free flow of pedestrian or vehicular traffic or ingress to or egress from premises adjacent to that place, or

stops or attempts to stop any person or in any manner communicates or attempts to communicate with any person

for the purpose of engaging in prostitution or of obtaining the sexual services of a prostitute is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years or is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction.

Bawdy houses are ileagal as well  and of course underage 18 is ileagal

sooo.... remember, no haggling on the street - save that for the bedroom.

Isn't marrage prostitution?  >:D
Honestly its been going on since the beginning of time. It's in the bible.  Who cares.  Get off the high horses and chill everyone.  There are more than a few members of this community that have acted immorally solicited the services of ladies of the night.
Some may have even posted pictures on the internet for financial gain......
I don't condone the woman.
Heck I had a running joke with a girl I was seeing. Everytime she wanted a booty call she would leave me ten bucks on my bedside table, we would laugh and say we could avoid emotional attachment if she paid for it.
So I guess I am the same at the officer in question.

Why give it up for free if you can get something out of it.  Heck I needed the cigarette money. I am sure a few of you have gotten some nice houses out of your church condoned marrages.

Remember sex is an immoral, dirty, sinful, degrading and disgusting act that should be saved for marrage and only with the person you love!  ::)

I disagree!  Sexual intercourse is a moral, clean, sanctified act that should be saved for marriage and therefore only with the person you love and commit to for life, either before God (if you are religious), or before your society (if you are not!)  >:D

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled prostitute fest  ;D

Fornication and copulation are two different meanings but the same act, the beast with two backs, arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

To fornicate like two shamless dogs on a street corner, or to copulate in the privacy with one's wife at  home. Fornicate sounds dirtier  ;D

Hell, lets just have a shag and get it over with.

Fancy a root Sheila?

Thats typical Australian terminology.

None of it is considered sex though,

unless it includes vinyl and jumper cables :P
