The important distinction is that pretty much everything about Trump is known (no possible attack is too small for critics to attempt), and a staggering amount of concealment has been thrown up in front of Biden and Harris.Well that bar to be great compared to the Trumpster isn’t exactly staggeringly high

Trading some social conservative votes in safe states for reduce damage to him on hot button social issues in battleground states is prudent. Trump doesn’t need to worry about Florida or other solidly conservative states. He does need to worry about swing voters concerned with abortion rights elsewhere.
For all his myriad faults and shortcomings, he’s not a far right zealot on many social issues. That will displease portions of his base, but he’s savvy enough to know he has to walk a line there given how close this election may be.

My point about this isn’t the “107%” figure which is blatantly ridiculous. He says ridiculous things.
It’s the fact that his supporters agreed (or didn’t publicly disagree) with it.
He’s dragged his sizeable MAGA base into a post-facts era. If the man on the screen says it, you accept it as true, and there never was any previously different truth.
