historically believe the forage hat was more practical and comfy than a shako or bearskin or similar. but that was 200 years back. Why do they keep making round forage caps for oval heads?
would you be able to advise who is manufacturing your naval peaked cap? Stokes Regalia make ours and comfortable, they are not. Could be just my ill shaped noodle. The new RCN peaked caps are comfortable, if you get it in the right size. I much prefer the peaked cap over the beret or wedge, but a ballcap is the best for daily use.
Pretty sure it's Logistik.would you be able to advise who is manufacturing your naval peaked cap? Stokes Regalia make ours and comfortable, they are not. Could be just my ill shaped noodle.
Funny since there are many pictures of CA folks in operational dress wearing ball caps. The difference is location - at work vs walking to/from work.BALL CAPS!!!! Sacrilege!!! Heresy!!!
Ooops - Army here - I will tiptoe out the back door now,......
Logistik is the wholesaler, the caps themselves are made in the UK by the same outfit that makes the UK caps I assume.Pretty sure it's Logistik.
Ours are made by a company in the UK, and distributed by Logistik Unicorp.would you be able to advise who is manufacturing your naval peaked cap? Stokes Regalia make ours and comfortable, they are not. Could be just my ill shaped noodle.
As long as they are not sporting fleece toques!!! IF toque itchy scratchy was good enough for me its good enough for all them!!!!Funny since there are many pictures of CA folks in operational dress wearing ball caps. The difference is location - at work vs walking to/from work.

So where does one tie an onion to their belt in Garrison Dress? Asking for the C&E Museum. As long as they are not sporting fleece toques!!! IF toque itchy scratchy was good enough for me its good enough for all them!!!!
That's the beauty of Kingston: you can go from seeing obsolete technology on display at the C&E Museum to learning how to use obsolete technology at the C&E school. So where does one tie an onion to their belt in Garrison Dress? Asking for the C&E Museum.
For the record those plastic rings were for shipping only; there was a tag in every one I got to say 'remove before wearing'. I kept the rings around to put back in before packing it in a bag for travel.heheheh. take out the plastic ring that keeps the top of the lid in a circular shape, instant crusher hat.
Get back to your circus Mud Monkey! So you're saying some Naval officers aren't smart enough to read the instructions?
So can you shape it like a U Boat commander like in Das Boot? For the record those plastic rings were for shipping only; there was a tag in every one I got to say 'remove before wearing'. I kept the rings around to put back in before packing it in a bag for travel.
Pretty comfortable when you did that, pretty funny to hear people complaining about them not fitting properly when they left the packing aid in.
The new hats are okay, but can only get one every 2 years with no option for a cash buy. Pretty sure mine got recycled in a bit of confusion during home renos, so still rocking the old one when I can't wear the beret.
Edit: cash order now available, at $120 + shipping... d'oh!
If you're as cool as Jurgen Prochnow then yes.So can you shape it like a U Boat commander like in Das Boot?
Yup, and that's why I kept the shipping ring from the replacement hat I ordered as a result! So can you shape it like a U Boat commander like in Das Boot?
You must wear the peaked cap at the right, jaunty, angle and it works best when you tell the SWO (Station Warrant Officer) to pound salt and wear your tunic collar turned up.Only if they look like this:

They do have the replaceable white covers available now.For the record those plastic rings were for shipping only; there was a tag in every one I got to say 'remove before wearing'. I kept the rings around to put back in before packing it in a bag for travel.

Yes, ordered one of those on points as well. Ended up costing me just shy of $150 for a replacement new hat on a cash buy as I can't get one on points until 2024. On the plus side, can get another fur cap now! They do have the replaceable white covers available now.
