There is only ONE taxpayer and its us. When politicians ramble on about finding "alternative sources of revenue" they are full of shit. One Taxpayer....and its us.
Meh, he just has to find 2.4 trillion dollars a year to replace that. No need to be negative right?

I just keep remembering how a bunch of characters in the 1930s found a bunch of cash when they had to pay for all that stuff that taxpayers usually pick up the tab for .

So he puts on tariffs to raise money and as a result the people pay higher prices for everything coming in. Genius. It's a zero sum game.
Alternatively the people stop buying foreign goods and the government runs out of money and has to lay off its civil service. Genius again.
It reminds me of the carbon tax.
$3.8 trillion total imports, $518 billion federal individual income tax. Someone might actually convince him it could work.

It's the inhumanity aspect of it. We don't know the stories of these people. We don't know if they're actual criminals beyond border jumping. What we know is that these colombians were sent home on a military aircraft in chains, to which their president objected as it's completely against most global norms for these types of things.

They’re going to struggle to establish that municipalities or states have an obligation to expend any of their resources supporting the enforcement of federal law. This is another case with division of powers issues at play. This is political more than it is legal.

I hope that there are enough Republican lawmakers left with a spine that end up working with the Democrats to strike down the worst of Trumps decisions and in essence make him a lame duck President. There is no '4 more yrs' for Trump, he can't run again, legally, so that will hopefully give some Republicans the courage to stand up to him going forward.
