Trump administration 2024-2028

And, just in case anyone was still wondering what the agenda might be...

Trump nominates 'Stop the Steal' organizer who advocated for Jan. 6 defendants to be D.C.'s top prosecutor

Ed Martin posted about investigating former special counsel Jack Smith on Friday. On Monday, Trump nominated him to take on the position on a permanent basis.

President Donald Trump has nominated the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia — a "Stop the Steal" organizer who advocated for Jan. 6 defendants — to be the district's top prosecutor on a permanent basis.

Trump made the announcement less than three days after the nominee, Ed Martin, posted that he would be investigating Jack Smith and a law firm that gave the former special counsel pro bono legal services.

Referring to Martin as "highly respected," Trump wrote on X that Martin "has been doing a great job as Interim U.S. Attorney, fighting tirelessly to restore Law and Order, and make our Nation’s Capital Safe and Beautiful Again."

Martin posted Friday on X, the platform owned by billionaire Elon Musk, that his office would be investigating Smith and the law firm of Covington & Burling over pro bono legal services Smith received during a time when Trump was openly vilifying him and suggesting he and his team should be locked up.

“Save your receipts, Smith and Covington,” Martin posted from his official X account Friday evening. “We’ll be in touch soon. #NoOneIsAboveTheLaw.”

The deep state is getting desperate. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is another assassination attempt.

The cringe bleating about lost democracy in the US is rather tiresome amongst all the other scandals of the establishment.

You need to identify sarcasm lol You had me lol

This is not about the war in Ukraine. This is about the collapse of the US as a member of the free world.

We need to stop calling the political victory of a party we didn't vote for as the collapse of something...

Sure, but who won the election is not the concern here. Their actions in the job are. Declaring that only the executive can interpret the laws, weaponizing the legal system and directing it against opponents, capitulating to dictatorships, etc.

I mean arguably it was the Democrats who weaponized the legal system, Trump has just escalated it and now its turned around on the Dems.

And I would like to say I warned that this would happen.

Except the Republican also tried to weaponise the Justice system previously. They just weren’t successful.

Then they broke a bunch of laws.

Now they are setting the stage for this current round….

It’s literally a tradition to replace all US Attorneys.

“By tradition, all U.S. attorneys are asked to resign at the start of a new administration. The new President may elect to keep or remove any U.S. attorney. They are traditionally replaced, collectively, only at the start of a new White House administration.”

So both sides did it and are each trying to out-do each other in a race to the bottom.

The Biden Administration was every bit as greasy and petty as the Trump Administration is. The issue I see is neither side has anyone mature enough to pull themselves out of the gutter.

I'm sorry but the both sides fallacy is pure hookum. Do the Democrats have a corruption problem? Yes. The Republicans? Yes. Are the Democrats planning on putting migrants in a "camp" in Cuba? No. Republicans? Yes. Are the Democrats actively destabilizing the Western World and NATO? No. Republicans? Yes.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I could also cherry pick random things each side is doing that "I" don't personally agree with and then say Dems Bad/Repubs Good!

I won't bother though, both sides have brown stains all over their noses.

I don't see a big issue with a migrant camp Btw. It's not even a novel idea and is no different than what many other Countries already do. Australia has been doing this exact same thing for years and nobody batted an eye:

I wish we also built a migrant camp for illegals, preferably in the territories to dissuade anyone from coming here illegally.

Putting on my tin hat - could all of this movement from the Trump camp with Russia be the price to be paid in order to get Russia to start backing the US against China and to bring the Russians 'over to our side' (whatever that means now)? Is Trump trying to angle this as a US against China showdown and he believes that by appeasing Russia it brings a potential weak spot to the Chinese rear areas by having Russia with the US?

And when Trump says that the US doesn't need Canada and its vast resources, well.....that's because he's going to give 'Most Favored Nation' trading status to dear old Vlad and have the Russian's sell them all their resources at pennies on the dollar when compared to Canada. This puts us, Canada, in a fine pickle. We won't be able to sell to the Chinese more than we currently do because then Trump will declare us a national security risk and poof, we're gone. I don't see us being able to sell enough to the EU, Japan or the rest of the world to make up the 80 +/-% of our current US exports. Our standard of living crumbles and our people clamor to be allowed 'to be Americans' - when in fact the best they will give us is the status of a Puerto Rican - citizenship but that's it - no equal representation in government.

Could all of this be the final game? US/Russia joined at the hip - Russia able to run rough shod against Ukraine, a fair number of former SU entities and sell all that they can to the US, thus vastly lining the pockets of their existing Oligarchs, with some tickle down improvements to the average Ivan/Ivanka in Russia and Tommy/Tammy in the US.

Well? Do I need to buy a new tin hat?
