Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

All of that. He will promise all of that.
With what money? We all have seen that the budget does not, in fact, balance itself; especially when our productivity and GDP are in the shitter.

Printing more money is not going to save him this time. That may have worked in 2019, maybe 2021 when we were still in the throes of COVID hysteria, but not today.

My gut tells me Trudeau thinks he can do a repeat of Dear Old Dad's 1979/1980 time in Opposition, limit Cons to a minority and then have another run at a majority. If you remember, the NDP helped Trudeau Senior with that one as well.
HB, in his and Katie Telford’s mind (and those whom she allows to speak to Le Dauphin), I think your absolutely right.

That’s only a problem for tomorrow’s generations…Per M2 to the Moon, baby!

But, hey, who knows what goes on in Justin’s mind as he puts on his multi-coloured socks.

…and it turns out that the person is an anti-LGBTQ activist. The article site is obviously a bit biased but I haven’t seen any other reporting on this, and it seems to link its sources.

A bit biased?🤣

Her orientation has nothing to do with it. She was speaking as a regular Canadian, fed up with the shenanigans of this feckless POS PM. Don't fall for the spin. It's not about her.

I suspect you’re right regarding Trudeau’s mindset. However the amount of nationwide dislike if not outright hatred for him is probably even greater than what Daddy Trudeau faced during his time in power. I think it extremely unlikely a CPC minority government would occur (it’s Poilievre’s to lose). But, hey, who knows what goes on in Justin’s mind as he puts on his multi-coloured socks.

Pierre used to be the most hated PM. Until his son decided to run. The gene pool needs bleaching.

Trudeau is a professional politician and he had an education in politics that no amount of University, etc could buy.

He got a front row seat watching his old man play kingmaker for two decades. What a training environment!

He has an innate talent for politics and is gifted at it, tbh.
Maybe, but even his old man didn't have to come from this far behind in this kind of media/public information environment. Also, he may have watched and been trained, we'll see how much he's learned - I don't think he's as smart as PT.

Again, shit can happen, but if that's the case, let's see what he thinks he can do compares to what he ends up doing. So far, I'm with the naysayers who say the Liberal party is almost toast - maybe not down to a single mating pair in the House, but pretty f@#$%^&*(ked. Still ... 🍿

I've actually heard people say they didn't like PT while giving him credit for being smart. As for the most hated PM, there's one contender that dipped even lower than PMJT - so far, anyway ...

I'll be surprised if he steps down, shocked really. Plus, none of the obvious contenders wants to be seen driving that big red bus into oblivion. With no successor who could realistically rescue the LPC from electoral defeat, why would he leave? He has won a strong majority and two minorities including "the election nobody but him wanted".

I've said it here before, but it bears saying again. The Trudeau LPC is very good at campaigning. Trudeau loves the campaign trail.

In previous campaigns the LPC were disciplined and single minded in their messaging. Although there are cracks showing right now, it is not yet game time for Team Trudeau and those cracks may very well be publicly patched over when the writ drops. He has, at minimum two months and at maximum eight to restore party discipline and faith in his ability to defeat Poilivere or at least hold him to a minority. It would be a hell of a long shot, but not impossible.

Team Trudeau is a wounded animal. If he stays on, I expect this campaign to be like nothing we have seen in Canada to date.

Dude. Kevin O’Leary says we are rich.

Trudeau will stay on until after the next election and the one after that. And what a come back story that will be!!

Edit: and I’m not trolling here. I think we can all see what this country is dealing with in this man.

On the matter of Trudeau and "campaigning" (seriously?)

My predictions? Trudeau can't campaign his way out of this one.

First, he is an OK not great campaigner. He didn't campaign that well in 2021, its just Erin O'Toole sucked really bad at it. If he was that great, he would have won a majority in 2019 and 2021. Truth is, clinging on is not "good campaigning"

Second, how the fuck is he going to campaign when he can't even go on a ski trip or walk downtown Ottawa, or Toronto or anywhere without everyone screaming and cursing at him? Good luck. Nothing like reaching out to everyday Canadians when 50 RCMP are covering you.

Third, take a damn good luck at Pierre Poilievre. He gets cheered on everywhere he goes, he speaks in public without hecklers and most Canadians are right on board with his "enough is enough, change now" mind set. Scheer and O'Toole didn't have that.
