Well tonight’s news about Tariffs isn’t going to help the LPC, and more likely no party can quickly solve the problem.

Because everything I've read over the past few years has been about foreign investment fleeing the country at unprecedented levels...
And the 'investment' money coming IN from China as they purchase up large amounts kd real estate and land, as well as resource deposits and mines
But I'm willing.to accept that I live in a bubble at times, so any links you could post to get my nose sniffing in a different direction would be appreciated.

When it comes to politics, whether it be federal or provincial (heck even local) there's some sort of crazy mind control spell over the citizenry here...

As unlikely as it is to stick, it would be pretty fantastic to see him personally voted out of his seat. That would be as clear a message to change tack as the LPC could possibly get.

Canada has a very left leaning core, to its detriment. I don't think it will ever see a fall like the PCs in the 90s.
For my peanuts, I think its time for the NDP, LPC and Greens to become one.

God no that would be terrible IMO. Other parties provide a relief valve for more extremist views. The last thing I would want to see is for us to descend into a 2 party system like our southern neighbours. Plus it could be worse, with a left leaning populace and a united left the resulting party would be for sure the natural governing party

Some might argue its the LPC who have out flanked their spectrum mates and are now the party of the extremists. But that's just opinion.
As for the rest, their combined weight now still gives them no federal government, if the current polling is to be believed.

People tend to forget that the Bloc Québecois was founded as a Conservative Party and I believe still draws Conservatives in Québec towards it. A lot of people would classify them as Centre-Left which historically may have been the case due to Labour Union influence over the PQ but I no longer see it that way and believe they, like the CAQ, are firmly right of the political spectrum.
They are pro-decentralization, Anti-Immigration, populist in nature and I view them as a regional right-wing populist party.
