trailer qualification

Can someone describe the differences between a T1/ T2 and T3 trailer qualifications please?

I have T3 and am limited to a 24 ft trailer.  So my best guess is that it would have to do with the size of trailer.

I think it has to do with the weight that trailer can haul.

I have T5 which entitles me to haul a 15t Beaver Tail (and every other trailer under that I think)


I believe T1/T2 are for MLVW and LSWV tailers, not sure about T3

My T3 is for a zodiac trailer, if thats any help.  And Like NFLD Sapper, I'm good for anything under that.

I gots me a T4 and it's good for 10,000 Lbs and smaller.

From the Qual code sheet hanging in my office

T1 - Trailer up to 1 ton,
T2 - Trailer up to 1 1/2,
T3 - Trailer up to 5 Ton
T4 - Trailer up to 10 ton,
T5 - Trailer up to 15 ton,
T6 - All trailers non 5th wheel,
T7 - All trailers 5th wheel,
T10 - Airstream
T11 - Roller towed
T12 Trailer forward area refueller
