Right, but if the Germans are being invited to cross their territory and into Ukraine, it’s reasonable for the Germans to want that request in writing.

Casualties have never really concerned the Russians or the old USSR
If those numbers are correct, that's likely 25% of their entire armed forces.

And eventually, a shortage of people able to make people. Russia's birth rate is the lowest its been since 2000 and a lot of that is due to seeing most Russian men in their reproductive prime being converted to corpses at an expedient rate.

Anything that can be said about the Russian population can be said, in more somber terms, about the Ukrainian population.
