Last bit of not-vibe shift off-topic The driver is probably a rarity these days. Many trucks are converting to automatics (air-shifted manuals). In my early CF years I got my ON AZ over leave one summer almost as a lark, but good for appreciating heavy equipment. Learning rig was a late-80s International 9300 with Cummins Big Cam 855 and a Fuller 13-speed. It gave me an appreciation of seeing guys like in the video, doing the work in near-seamless perfection.

And I credit the newer generation of NCOs with being the main effort in leading this shift as they realized that the 'older and bolder' were basically full of crap and decided it was time for a change

You mean those of us that joined in the 80's? usually don't think of us as the newer generation but nice to have the recognition for our efforts. it was a bit nerve racking facing possible drummed up charges and booting from the military by standing with our friends against the system. The more we stood the more things slowly changed. CFAO 19-20 was eventually removed from the books in 1992 after a court challenge by several members.

I don't think people really understand how far back things go. In the early 80's I went to an employment office to see about a training course they ran to help people get employment. the woman told me they no longer run it. As I was leaving I met a friend and she mentioned she was going in for the course. We walked back together and when she asked the same woman directed her to a room down the hall where they would register her. Naturally I asked why she told me they no longer run the course. Answer of course was - we only run it for women. leaving I noticed a sign they had - lots of words that boiled down to if you were anything besides a white male you qualified for special assistance and programs. Woke policies didn't just start recently, they just didn't have the media/social attention they do now.
