Sec 2i/c crse - QL5 - questions

I don‘t recall this course being offered back in the day.

What is the sect 2i/c course like? Is it offered post BIQ and after one advanced course? How long in before it can be taken? Only offered to corporals?

Curious if anyone could enlighten me on the details, length, difficulty, where it‘s held, etc etc...

For the Infantry (regs), the course is taken after the PLQ and just expands on Infantry leadership. Particularly in leading patrol and section attacks. Basically, they broke up the old ISCC into two parts, I guess like the JLC & JNCO courses. The course is three weeks long and at the moment is only offered at the CTC in Gagetown.

Why would a sect 2ic course be offered AFTER you take a course that qualifies you to be a sect commander?

I was under the impression that DP2B (Inf Sect 2ic) was a stepping-stone leadership course intended to be taken before PLQ.

Other way around, you take PLQ which provides the foundations for DP2B and then you take the section 2i/c course which goes into Infantry specific leadership and tactics, wheras PLQ is an all arms course.

That all arms course is a nightmare.

When I did JNCO in 1996 they did it as an all arms course, with the infantymen all getting assesed to the infantry standard. Try leading a patrol that consists of a 4‘0" admin clerk, an engineer, and a gunner from Quebec who was sent on the course for "employment".
