Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that highway photo actually a scene from Final Destination 2 (which happened to be filmed on the Campbell River bypass)?
 
If I recall correctly, its a police officer who gets the end of the log straight between the eyes in the film - and if you open up the picture you will see the word 'STATE' (as in 'State Police') written in reverse on the top right side of the windshield...

 
When I used to work for Domtar we had a rule that all pole trucks had to have metal (vs wood) uprights to keep the load on the flatbed.

Obviously the one in the picture either had wooden one OR... scarier still, strictly chains.

If you watch this scene in the movie you see the logs fall off after the restraining chains snap...
