I have a (maybe) crazy question about the application itself. Here is the question I`m referring to:

Part H                                                  Activities and Interests
On average, during the past 2 years, select the number of hours per week you have devoted to activities outside school or work ( such as community involvement, clubs, cadets, committees, chores etc.

When they say "chores", do they mean chores like cleaning around the house, doing dishes, washing the bathroom etc.? I checked this on dictionary.com to make sure I`m not missing anything, and what I got was...

–noun
1. a small or odd job; routine task.
2. chores, the everyday work around a house or farm.
3. a hard or unpleasant task: Solving the problem was quite a chore.

BTW: If this is the case, then I do over 5 hours a week  :blotto:

chores, the everyday work around a house or farm. is what they are referring to.

Yup!
Some people don't have a lot of extra activities when they join up...
Doing chores shows that you can complete tasks, you can be organized....etc...
i.e. walking a dog....cutting the lawn...shoveling snow etc...

It beefs up your application.... another check in the box!

So true!

Yes, when I was reviewing an application and I saw that an applicant did a lot of chores I definitely moved that application to the front of the line for immediate processing.

You know If I saw that someone did a lot of "chores" on a farm and I saw someone did a lot of "HALO" on his computer guess which one I'd put on the top of the pile.

Don't dis "chores" because it sounds dumb. There is a reason why we ask!

I know some guys, not in the military, that are attending university and their mothers still do their laundry, dishes, cook all meals, etc... It's surprising the number of people I've met who don't know how to turn on a washing machine. So it is definitely a good thing that you know how to do menial jobs and look after yourself.
