I am looking for information on the content of the NQ5A Reg med tech course. How long does it take, and what type of material do we cover? Does the course include ACLS, ATLS and ALS?
No (you may get the course after you are qualified QL5), no (PAs and Docs only), and no (what the heck is that anyway?).
Primarily, you do learn how to do sick parade (histroy taking, examination, some diagnosing, and qualified to prescribe an approved list of OTC drugs), amongst some other things.
Possibly AMLS - Advanced Medical Life Support - is the course being referred to. I suspect the army doesn't routinely offer it; as it deals with medical cc's. Like PALS (Pediatric ALS) , hard to get in an army setting I think.
