Hello: On my grandfather's WW1 attestation paper for previous military experience it states; 5 years 10th Battery Canadian Field Artillrery 2 years 67th Regiment Sussex Company. One suggestion is that the latter part refers to the 67th Regiment Carleton Light Infantry and hence the RNBR. This would cover the period between 1907-1914. Is this a valid supposition, and if so , are there any surviving records to access? Thankyou, Hercules.

you get that the 10th Bty, Canadian Field Artillery was raised out of Toronto.

From this link the 67th Regiment....

you get that the 67th Regiment of Militia, the Carleton Light Infantry recruited in and around Winnipeg, Manitoba.

10th Battery C.F.A.:

War diaries available online for the 3rd Brigade CFA.
Numerous textual records for the 10th available at LAC but not online.

67th Regiment

Some paylists are also available at LAC.

The Canadian artillery underwent a re-organization in England, and the 7th Field Battery, CFA, from St Catharines was re-numbered the 10th Field Battery and assigned to the 3rd Artillery Brigade before going to France.

After years of searching, I have come to the conclusion that there are no extant War Diaries, either at LAC or with the current 10 Battery, 56 Field Regiment. This seems true for almost all Field Batteries.
