Mystery Ranch NICE Frame in CADPAT
Sunday, August 7th, 2011

Mystery Ranch let me in on a couple of upcoming products and as we went through the stacks of packs, they pulled out a NICE Frame in CADPAT-TW. This variant of the NICE frame will see limited fielding in the Canadian forces as a component of a weapons program.

It's the basis of the carriage system for the C16.  3 per system with specialized bags for the various sub-loads.

Its part of a joint project between Mystery Ranch and Fellfab. Dana designed everything that will touch your body, whereas Fellfab designed what looks like a large rectangular foam filled block with cutouts for the sighting systems of the C-16. Dana spoke about it briefly while at CANSEC this year. I will say he is a true gentleman and I hope the CF sends more business his way.

It would be nice if someone decided that the issued small pack was garbage and decided to go MR to replace it...

That's a 3-Day pack though, isn't the Small Pack designed as a 24-hour pack?

Did the CF ever get those Mystery Ranch NICE frames yet? If so, anyone have a photo on them? What's everyone's two cents on Mystery Ranch? I like the frame idea they have. Just don't have the coin to drop for one of thoses yet.  ;D

I haven't seen an issued one, but I have a Mystery Ranch/Camelbak NICE frame (cheaper alternative to the original). It's a fantastic design with the adjustable yoke and pack board style back. The multiple attachment points make it easy to rig up the different bags they offer, making it a very versatile frame.
My $0.02, well worth the money if you can find them on eBay.

I own a Dragonslayer and it's easily the best pack I've ever owned/carried. They're well designed and the workmanship/materials is extremely good. Pricy, but you certainly get what you pay for.

If you di get one just don't loan it out to anyone...you may not get it back!  ^-^
