The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for the supply of a firm quantity of 18,000 doses of Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed (AVA) to be delivered over a 3 year period from date of contract award. The requirement also includes an option to purchase an additional 12,000 doses over a 5 year period from date of award of contract. The vaccine has to have a safety profile that is equal to or better than BioThrax®, is licensable in Canada or can be brought into Canada under Health Canada's Special Access Program (SAP) and is fully interchangeable with BioThrax® ....

Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) Ottawa's Radiological Analysis and Defence (RAD) Group has long-been associated with the design, production and field use of radiation spectroscopic and dosimetric equipment. As a result a suite of such state-of-the-art products has been produced.  Recently, RAD has been requested for extremely rapid turn-around studies on matters pertaining to the equipment suite. These requests range from modification of the existing equipment to feasibility of its applicability to future projects to participation in national/international exercises involving the equipment to calibration for RAD participation in trials to radioactive sample preparation for these trials ....

Histopathological expertise is required to support DRDC Suffield's efforts to elucidate the mechanism of action of CWA and subsequently of developing mechanism based therapies to protect against CWA-induced damage. In addition, the Casualty Management Section now conducts pre-clinical Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) studies and histopathology expertise is required for these studies ....
