Keeping quals like wings if you realease and come back as NCM

I wasn't sure where to put this so I decided here was a good start. ;D

Just out of interest, no practical application, if you qualify as a pilot and after your 7? years, release and later come back as a NCM, could you still wear your wings? I'm pretty sure this would be the rarest situation to find but if it did happen, would you?

Yes, once they're pinned on you, they're yours forever unless they're revoked for some reason.

CFAO 55-10 outlines the wearing of Aircrew and other specialist badges. It makes mention of 24 continuous months in a designated crew position in order to qualify for permanent retention of flight crew badges, but makes no mention of min time for permanent retention of Aircrew badges.

Can't imagine a pilot coming back as an NCM, unless he flew for Cdn Airlines.   Inch is correct, throughout a career you will see a variety of folks with trade badges that were earned as NCM and still worn as officers.   Many MOs and Specialist Medical Officers were once pilots, they still wear their pilot wings even though they spent 5, 10, 15 years at various types of medical training and now only fly in a plane in Executive Class.
