Hello

My name is Andrew Miller and I am fairly new to this forum. I just joined the 2nd Irish regiment in my city. I am very excited since I have been wanting to join the military ever since my father told me about his time in CSR1. I was in the 200 Wolf squadron for 3 years and made it to the rank of sergent. I hope to become an Communications Operaterator who is Airborne qualified. I was wondering if there are any helpful hints you could give me. I hope my stay here will be an enjoyable one.

Thanks In Advance

Andrew

Andrew as we say your are a just Sprog right now, just get your basic trades course's first.
Our Military is like a slug,it's slow and tedious but if you are good Troop you may find you may catch all.
Just keep fit and don't be lazy and keep your eye out for those course's you wish for.
We have a lot of good folk's here who can help you with any questions you have.
Welcome to army .ca. :salute:

Welcome to the site, and the CF, Andrew. There is a wealth of knowledge on here that is sure to be a help to you. Read through the many forums, I'll wager many of your questions have already been asked and answered.

Welcome, Andrew.

I've been retired for many years, after 35+ years of service, and, as paracowboy suggests, I find lots to learn by reading here.

There's an old saying in the army: "Time spent on recce is seldom wasted."  It's another way of saying "look, long and hard, before you leap" and reading through the fora, here on army.ca, is a great way to do your recce.

I wish something like this had existed when I was in your position - I would have made so many fewer stupid mistakes.

Good luck bro,

I just got back from my BMQ/SQ 2 days ago.  Just always know in your head, that it is worth it in the end.  Never say can't and send the Cock (Confirmation of Combat Knowledge) thru one ear and out the other and your set :P

Hope to see you in the battlefield  :cdn:
