The foreign nationals are cadets seconded by their country. On graduation they are appointed 2LT/Ensign in their country's armed forces.

Update:

Whilst travelling in the states I met some Rangers who were on leave. We obviously drank together since we had something in common (military service). There's was definitely more colorful and that intrigued me. So it came up that I should join the American Army, after all I have "experience".

2 Days later I was sitting in a recruitment office. They liked my record (but I didn't have anything on paper, keep that in mind). But alas it was not to be currently they are only excepting foreigners who

A. Have permanent residence/green card

B. Legal native status

C. Have a language that they are interested in acquiring.

The last one wasn't touched upon, so let it be known that they like middle eastern languages and some eastern Asian languages. I'm sure there's a list out there. Keep in mind you can't join any trade on that scheme. But it's a start.

Flaker, you replied to a post that hasn't been active since 2005.  Also,  the info you posted isn't new, and has been posted before.

Yea I know, but I wasn't aware of the language thing being on here yet. Just trying to help any future people out.
