So .... it's been over 7 months since I started the process for my component transfer to the regular force.

And this is pissing me off.

Everytime I make a phone call to the recruiting office they always give me a general answer of "yeah, we're working on it" BS.

I'm starting to lose hope and I'm ready to just work civi side and maybe stay as a reservist.

This is pathetic as I really wanted to get in the regs.

Anyone knows what esle I can do?

Specifically ask them WHERE your file is, what's being done with it. Like, is it awaiting medical approval in Borden? Iss it stuck in NDHQ somewhere? Are you 'merit listed'... Basically find out from them exactly what's going on with it. And that way maybe you can find out where the snag is... From what I've read on here and heard from others, usually with a CT it's the "Prior Verification of Service" that takes FOOORRREEEEEVVVEEEERRRRRR ..... So maybe tell them to forget that part and start from scratch, but then you'd have to do all your training over again.

Some things take more time then others. Have you expressed to them that you are frustrated and getting close to giving up? If you haven't perhaps they could at least give you some insight as to what the progress is on your file. Use the magic approach...don't b!tch......inquire.

What city are you in??

Myself, I had tio litterally bug the crap out of them daily.  One thing you must also remember, the CF recruting folks are just as short handed as the rest of us.  The CF's is in a real jam, we need people badly, but there's hardly anyone avail to recruit & train.  It's really bad.  The CF wants to recruit all these thousands of people, but we have a mojor "log jam" in training.  You cannot feed a starving man a turkey dinner, it is too much to soon, it is going to take years to fix this.  Be patient, it's well worth the wait.

I'm too lazy to look for any references, but I know the ombudsman was very interested in the amount of time it is taking for component transfers being completed.......

You are already pissmoaning and complaining, stay in the reserves, the reg force doesn't need you.

Well, that was constructive....

Just take a deep breath and remind yourself of how badly you want to join the Regs.

Hopefully that will calm you down, and you can then proceed to follow some of the advice given to you previously in this thread, including explaining to the CFRC/D near you how frustrated you are getting with your CT.

Ignore people telling you that because you complained here you shouldn't join the Regs. People bitch and whine everywhere, its naive to think that noone in the Regs ever complains about anything.

People in the reg force don't moan and complain anymore?  :o

Wow, things have changed since I've been out....

are you one of those clowns that think the reg force is better than the reserves?

hahaha. you're ignorant just like the rest of them.

thanks for the useless advice though. i'm sure your subordinates are proud of you.

Steady up there. You are correct by saying that it would be naive to think that Regs don't whine. However, if this guy is whining about the wait time, what else does he whine about? Is he going to whine when his pay is screwed up? Is he going to whine when he gets put on duty? Is he going to whine when he misses a meal because he is on operation?

First impressions are important, don't you agree? There is a time and a place for pissmoaning, this not being one of them. Joining the Regs is not a right, it's a privelge.  He needs to remember that he is not the only one trying to join and waiting patiently!!!!!!!

I'm in Toronto.

And yeah I kept bugging them about it. I was even talking to and e-mailing different people. The funniest was an e-mail reply by this guy 4 months later telling me that  I need to send some docs from my home unit.

Anyways, the officer that interviewed me called yesterday and gave me some good news. He said that everything is completed and I should be on the merit list when the board meets on Nov 8. Also. I should expect an offer (PLR) before the 20th.

So yeah I'm somewhat relieved and very excited.

Thanks for all the positive comments from everyone.

I can't wait to be part of PRETC in Borden. Lol.

Well,

Sometimes it is good to let off steam.

2023, thanks for the window on how we all must put up and shut up to have the privelage to serve on a regular basis.
