I regret to advise of the death of 37 CER Regimental Sergeant Major Douglas Payne, CD in St John’s NL on Saturday 13 July 2024.

I served with him for the whole of my career. He shared many words of wisdom. He truly cared for 56 Field Engineer Squadron and later 37 Combat Engineer Regiment and wanted everyone to give 100%. He was a true leader and mentor.

He will be missed, rest easy RSM.
