Police: Cory Lidle's plane crashes into N.Y. building

NEW YORK (AP) — A small plane carrying New York Yankee Cory Lidle slammed into a 50-storey skyscraper Wednesday, apparently killing the pitcher and a second person in a crash that rained flaming debris onto the sidewalks and briefly raised fears of another terrorist attack.

A sad day in baseball. RIP Cory Lidle.

Both Lidle and his instructor were killed. Plane may have run out of fuel.

It is very sad to hear, however it sparked alot of painful memories because all over work when the news was breaking I only heard "plane crashed into NYC building".  I thought the bad guys struck again. My prayers for their families. God Bless.

Preliminary report on flight path was they were flying at 800' ..VFR rules minimum is 1000'  and were sightseeing.
Came within the limits of restricted airspace and made a 180 degree turn at 112mph and did not have enough space to complete at that altitude started to stall and ran into the apartment building.
