Good for them.
Their management is terrible (appointed from the PS not promoted from within), refuses to admit they're a law enforcement agency, runs screaming from any kind of liability and would significantly hamper the efforts of their largely awesome and hard working front line.
Leave it with the RCMP, but mandate the RCMP actually focus on Federal Policing as a whole and staff their border enforcement units fully for 24/7 operations and patrol. The cities we Police in the Lower Mainland of BC need to be told they're not getting a 10% discount on the (Federal) books anymore.
