hello, it's my first post on this site....

I just wanted to know what kind of schooling options the Canadian army provides; I want to be an architect but I don't have enough money for school. would the Canadian army be able to help me out if I devote some of my time?

Hi Christer,

fill up your profile a bit more and tried the SEARCH button, it can do amazing things ;)!

"Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP) – The ROTP comprises a full undergraduate education at the Royal Military College of Canada or another accredited Canadian university, immediately followed by two to five years of obligatory service, depending on the period of academic subsidy. To qualify for the ROTP, you must have completed high school with the appropriate university-oriented credits, or be in Grade 12 in an appropriate program with full expectation of successful completion. "

ROTP may be what you're looking for... Search away ;)

I too would suggest SEARCH, and read these very important topics, that you seem to have ignored on Registration:

Now as to becoming an Architect, you are not going to find any CF sponsored courses in that field, even if you do go to RMC.  You would be able to attend those courses if you became a Reservist and paraded with a Reserve Unit and attended Summer Training.  That way you would be able to earn money towards your education, but may still have to apply for Student Loans.

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.

If you started you degree already, apply for let's say Pilot ROTP, I would think they'll let you finish it.  I don't see why not anyways..

Only Naval Architecture is available for subsidization at a civilian university and that is to be a Mars O, Log O, Naval Combat Systems Engineer or Marine Systems Engineer.

Stay in your lane.

Join the reserves.

Work part time during the school year.

Full time during the summers.

Will help pay the school bills.

As pointed out just above me, your reg force options with your chosen path are, well, limited.  ;D
