Cool, first time I heard about this. My wife and I are planning to attend. Who else is going?

Results of the Calgary Support the Troops.
There were approximately 200 or so people in attendance evenly split between former CF members, current members families and non-connected supporters. I enjoyed several of the speakers which is unusual as politicians generally are on my ignore list. Layton was very heavily and rightly so criticized. Media coverage was extensive but judging by the small article in this mornings paper they have put their own spin on things. I feel part of the low turn out was due in fact to the newspaper burying the rally details in a back section and limiting it to one small paragraph. Several people commented that if the veteran's various associations were contacted the turn out could have been stronger BUT the rally idea was the work of one man who has never served and described himself as a nobody. I think that is untrue as nobodies tend to lurk. Some bodies do things and Meryl did.
