While filling out my CAF Occupational assessment. Theere was a question that said "Have you ever served in any CAF component" and included cadets, I clicked yes, (I went from 2020-24) it then asked if i completed any occupational training. I only went to Valcartier once to complete Expedition, but i don't think that's no where near as strenuous to be included in the sheet. Should i put that in? Am i doing something wrong?

You'll be find with just including you were in cadets. The expedition with cadets wouldn't be considered Ooccupational training.

Fine to mention it, just don't brag about it as if it somehow makes you better than the other applicants.

It'll be taken as leadership experience and maybe an indication that you have a baseline knowledge and fitness level, but that's about it probably.

I’m going back a lot of years here, but I remember as a young reservist I got a six month time credit towards my first pay bump or something along those lines. I don’t know if that’s still a thing or applicable to the reg force. I had I think two and a half years of cadet time.

If you did the Cadet Jump Course, that might qualify.

Apart from that, probably not much else.

If we're being pedantic they're still a Master Seaman.

Haha, well I ended up not mentioning that, But I did mention I completed winterwarfare training with our local army reserve, and passed off my cadet stuff as 'leadership' things. It went well, I've been put on a competitive list or something? But I've been assured that since I got into U ottawa civil engineering I could get all that covered as part of ROTP.
