Boosting wifi range

Can anybody recommend a wifi range extender that actually works?
I need to boost signal strength out to 400 feet. This is supposedly within range of my Telus supplied Huawei wireless router, but the thing drops signal most of the time.
It’s not an option to bury a cable, and the router can not be relocated. Thoughts?

In What context are you trying to extend your signal? 400ft is about 120m. For the sake of scale, that's the same as the distance between six city houses. I'm not sure there's a residential device that has that range. That being said, there's this device: https://winegard.com/products/wifi/repeaters/extreme-wifi-home/extreme-wifi-extender It's only 2.4g, so you won't get fast connections, especially at the periphery. Whatever device you select, be careful reading the specs. Make sure they're not talking about sqft when you're talking about linear ft. For example, if you want to have your receiver 400ft away from the transmitter, then the area of the circle the transmitter broadcasts needs to be 125000sqft. You can get directional wifi extenders, but my experience with these is limited. There's one on Amazon, that folks seem to like, but the info on it is sparse.

When I was RVing it we frequently were in parks where the WIFI was spotty at best. Frequently the weak spot in the link isn't the router but the low performing built in antennae in the computer. Since I couldn't control the router I purchased a boosted antennae like this one to help pull in the signal and also boost my laptops signal going back to the router.

Can't guarantee the range since it depends a lot on the router too. Since you do have control of the router, one of their other products might be of better or combined use.

Our ewes are going to have babies soon, and so I’m looking to install wifi cameras in the lambing barn. Right now the cameras connect to the wifi, but the signal barely holds on, and more often than not it drops connection.

I'll second the Alfa products.  I've used a bunch of them and they do work as advertised.  I've taken a single bar connection and turned it into a 3-4 out of 5 one with the directional antennas.
