Australia to deploy military force to UAE - ABC Australia

Concur with Dimsum's sentiments.
Following words from Australian Aviation magazine's daily update site:
"The ADF will commit up to eight F/A-18F Super Hornets from the Amberley-based 1SQN, an E-7A Wedgetail AEW&C aircraft from 2SQN at Williamtown, and a KC-30A air-to-air refuelling tanker from Amberley’s 33SQN, along with an element of about 200 Army special forces soldiers to provide training to anti-IS forces.
The Australian forces will be based at the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE, from which Super Hornet air strikes, and Wedgetail and KC-30 missions could be launched.
Al Minhad is some 1,500 kilometres south-east of Baghdad. With most of the operations against IS expected to be conducted taking place north and west of the Iraqi capital, if they are committed to operations missions of five or more hours for the Super Hornet crews will be common."

Well it was alluded to above that this air base is a bit of a Mirage...

Emirates has been flying multiple times a day to several Australian airports for years now, and they have had a partnership with Qantas with for about 2 years now.

I tanked on it, best AAR platform out there. Lots of gas, 2 hoses, dual system, fast fuel flow, fast speed... Everything desired from a tanker.

The Royal Australian Air Force has deployed a new contingent of soldiers and aircraft to the Middle East to support the fight against the Islamic State militants in Iraq.
The contingent comprises six F/A-18A Hornets from RAAF Base Tindal, and an undisclosed number of soldiers. It will replace elements of the initial Air Task Group, which was deployed to Al Minhad air base in the UAE in September 2014, as part of Operation Okra.
A total of 400 RAAF personnel will be included in the first ATG, as well as F/A-18F Rhinos, E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning and control, and the KC-30A multi-role tanker transport aircraft.
In addition, the C-130J Hercules and C-17A Globemaster III aircraft are available to provide additional humanitarian and logistic support as required.
"The contingent comprises six F/A-18A Hornets from RAAF Base Tindal, and an undisclosed number of soldiers."
Air Commander Australia air vice-marshal Gavin Turnbull said: "Our people are well trained, skilled and professional members of the Australian Defence Force.
"I acknowledge the immense amount of planning and preparation by personnel right across the air force that is undertaken to successfully execute operational deployments."
The existing F/A-18F Rhinos are scheduled to arrive in Australia in April. ++
